Lichfield School is situated within the beautiful rural village of Lichfield and surrounded by verdant farmland. It is approximately 8km south of Putāruru and 15km north of Tokoroa, on State Highway 1.
We are in a district known as the South Waikato, near the Central North Island of NZ. Residents enjoy the centrality of the position, being less than an hours drive from major shopping and tourist spots, such as Rotorua, Taupo, Hamilton, and Tauranga.
To provide opportunities for all learners to identify and develop personal strengths and talents… so that they can be successful members of our society.
Every minute of every day we are learning, no matter if we are one day old or 90 years old.
Our vision points out that all members of our school learning community are life long learners.
Lichfield School has been serving the local community since 1884.

Dear Parents and Whānau,
We have been notified of a case of scabies within our school community. Scabies is a very common skin condition caused by tiny mites that burrow under the skin. It causes an intense, itchy rash that is often worse at night.
Because scabies is highly contagious, it spreads easily through close physical contact, shared clothing, or shared bedding. Anyone can get scabies, and it is not a sign of poor hygiene.
What you need to do:
· Check your child: Look for an intense itch or small red bumps, especially between fingers, on wrists, or around the waist.
· See a doctor or pharmacist: If you suspect scabies, visit a clinic or pharmacy immediately for treatment lotions.
· Treat the whole household: If one person has scabies, every single person living in the home must be treated at the exact same time, even if they do not have symptoms.
· Stay home: Children with scabies must stay home from school until 24 hours after their first treatment has been completed.
· Wash linen: Wash all bedding, towels, and recently worn clothes in hot water on the day of treatment.
Please let the school know if your child is affected so we can monitor the situation and protect our school whānau. All notifications are kept strictly confidential.
Thank you for your quick cooperation in keeping our tamariki safe and healthy.
Any queries or concerns please let us know.
